D. Shane Jones is a Shareholder of the Firm of Tueth, Keeney, Cooper, Mohan & Jackstadt P.C.  He has been with the firm since it was founded in 2000, and has been a shareholder since 2003.  Prior to joining Tueth, Keeney, Shane was an attorney at Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin (now Husch Blackwell Sanders, LLP) in its St. Louis office.

Shane practices labor law, employment law, and education law, in both Missouri and Illinois. He advises and represents employers in wage and hour matters, the design and review of employee handbooks, and employee discipline and termination.  Shane has also successfully defended employers against discrimination and other labor and employment claims in state and federal courts.

Shane focuses much of his practice in labor relations and collective bargaining.  He is experienced in crafting initial proposals and counter-proposals, and in presenting the employer’s position at the bargaining table.  He has directly negotiated or participated extensively behind the scenes in the negotiation of more than sixty collective bargaining agreements, including negotiations under the National Labor Relations Act, the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Act, the “meet and confer” process in the Missouri Public Sector Labor Law, and the new Constitutional right to bargain collectively, recently recognized by the Missouri Supreme Court.

Shane’s experience also includes protecting the employer’s interests at virtually every stage of the labor relations process.  He has helped non-union employers maintain union-free work environments through campaigns and elections under the National Labor Relations Act, the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Act, and the Missouri Public Sector Labor Law.  He has also sucessfully pursued and defended unfair labor practice charges before the National Labor Relations Board and the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board, and successfully defended employers in grievance arbitration before labor arbitration forums such as AAA.
