Thomas E. Tueth practices in the areas of education, higher education, labor and employment and civil litigation law.  Tom’s experience includes representation of public school districts, community colleges, colleges and universities, private schools and not-for-profit organizations throughout Missouri.  He counsels and speaks to education officials on a wide variety of topics including employment discrimination, sexual harassment, contracts and tenure, rights of students, negligence and general liability, church and state, school finance and employee organizational matters.  Tom provides ongoing advice to dozens of public school districts, private schools and institutions of higher education.  Tom and the firm are select counsel for United Educators Insurance Risk Retention Group in Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois, which insures educational institutions throughout the country.

Tom has been Adjunct Professor of Law at Washington University School of Law and has taught a course in education law to graduate students at Fontbonne College in St. Louis. 

Tom is Chairman and a founding Shareholder of the Firm.

Tom has also contributed to publications for attorneys and educators on school law issues.  Tom authored “School Law,” Chapter 16, Missouri Local Government Law Deskbook, which was published in 1986, as well as portions of the 1997 supplement to the chapter.  In 2003, Tom co-authored a new MoBar CLE deskbook devoted entirely to school law.  In 2008, he supervised the preparation of supplements to the deskbook and authored two of the chapter supplements.  The deskbook is a resource for Missouri lawyers.

Over the years, Tom has written articles that have appeared in various publications and newsletters, including those of the St. Louis Metropolitan Bar Association and United Educators Insurance Risk Retention Group, Inc.
