OT/PT SCHOOL PRACTICE SEMINAR ABC's of OT/PT in the School Setting

If you currently work in a school setting, would like to work in a school setting, or simply desire new information about OT/PT in a school setting, you do not want to miss this unique seminar. If you are tired of attending seminars that do little more than reinforce what you already know, then this seminar is for you! Taught by expert therapists with extensive practice experience in the school setting and by three experienced school law practitioners, you will leave the seminar equipped to integrate your skills into special education programming for students.

Who should attend:
Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, PTAs, COTAs, Directors of Special Education 

At the completion of the seminar, the participant will:

  • Gain an understanding of the role of the therapist in the educational setting versus the traditional medical setting.
  • To gain an understanding of how to utilize documentation for multiple determinations.
  • Work through a case study from initial referral and evaluation to preparing present level and goals as part of an IEP.
  • Gain and identify basic treatment strategies/modifications to implement while working with students with Autism Spectrum disorders, ADHD, and multiple disabilities in the school setting.
  • Apply information regarding treatment, documentation and legal issues to a case study which the participant provides.
  • Gain knowledge regarding the legal implications of working with medically fragile students in a school setting.
