2009 Missouri School Law Seminar

The law firm of Tueth, Keeney, Cooper, Mohan & Jackstadt P.C is proud of its commitment to the advising and educating school administrators on the complex and ever-changing legal issues facing public schools. Continuing this commitment, Tueth Keeney has announced the dates for its Annual School Law Seminars.  The seminars provide practical guidance for school administrators and other school officials, reduce the incidence of litigation in all aspects of school operation, and prevent avoidable expense for school districts.

Topics planned at this time include emerging disability law (especially after the amendments to the ADA); student discipline, including “sexting” and cyberbullying; homeless and other residency issues; evaluation, remediation, and termination of teachers; preventing and responding to sexual misconduct; special education and Section 504; First Amendment (mandates and prohibitions); and a comprehensive statutory and case law update.  Additional topics may be added, depending upon the result of the current legislative session and pending court cases.  The presentations will emphasize practical application and will provide resources that may be used in the school district after the seminars have been completed.

Registration and complimentary light lunch will begin at 10:45 a.m.

The program will begin at noon.

The program will conclude at 3:45 p.m.
